Ants are all around us. Ever present, but ever so hidden. Ants are one of the most advanced species on the planet that have survived for the past 120 Million years! But yet, there is so much that we do not know about these amazing creatures.

So come on down and join us at The Singapore Ant Exhibition, where multiple species of ants will be showcased in beautiful man-made habitats. Get up close views on varying species of ants in their habitats in a safe and controlled environment where our friendly guides will share and educate everyone on the lives of ants and even, the joys of Antkeeping as a hobby!

UNIQUE NATIVE SPECIES

Dinomyrmex Gigas

The Dinomyrmex Gigas are one of the largest ants in the world. The size of their queen ants are as large as AA batteries!

Polyrhachis Beccarii (Golden Ants)

These beautiful ants are well appreciated for their amazing coat of gold.

Odontomachus Similimus (Trapjaw)

The TrapJaw ants have large manibals that can extend up to 180 degrees and snap 2300 times faster than the blink of an eye to propel them from danger!

Carebara Diversa

These unique native species have super major ants that are 500x bigger than their worker ants!

Oecophylla Smaragdina (Weaver)

The weaver ants are well known to form bridges using their own bodies for their fellow ants to cross!

EXHIBITION ACTIVITIES

Get upclose with the action at our exhibition! Guests will catch a glimpse of how:

  2. Weaver ants form bridges for crossing

Explore the hidden activities in a colony’s chamber nest:

  1. Ants feed each other through their social stomach
  2. Queen ants laying eggs
  3. How ants designate their own garbage areas

The exhibition will showcase Zat’s collection of handcrafted exquisite formicariums.
